How Does Google Ad Placement Work?
PPC November 29th, 2009When you buy keywords on google, your ad appears when someone searches for your keyword.
However, what determines the rank of your ad, are you the first ad, the second, the third?
The answer to that, is how much you payed for a keyword. That makes sense.
So, take a look at this, these are my keywords
Pay Per Click
Pay Per Click Coach
Get Rich Quick
Make Money Online.
I understand that these keywords are in demand, but I put the bid to $5 for the adgroup which means I’m paying $5 for each ad click, and I’m still not ranking high, in fact, sometime when I typy in the keyword, its not even existent?
I’m a little confused, how can I get the rank ad high
thanks

Curious: why are advertising for “Pay Per Click” if you don’t understand it? Are you intending to offer this as a service? The questions you’re asking are basic elements of PPC advertising!
The reasons you’re not seeing your ad:
1. You may be bidding $5 per click but someone could be bidding $10
2. You may be the highest bidder but someone with a greater Quality Score and a lower bid will get a higher position
3. Your daily budget doesn’t cover your ad display for every search. For example, Google has 10,000 searches per day for your search term. You are bidding $5 per click. Lets say your budget is $10 and your CTR is 10%. Then Google can’t show your ad more than every 100th search – because if it was clicked on, your budget would be maxxed out!
So you could opt to have your ads shown faster instead of evenly – then you should see it more often.
Please don’t offer a PPC service – you don’t know what you’re doing.
