This is because they don't want to compete for the same terms with their own affiliates -- and maybe end up paying more than they should because of increased competition. If the trademark owner does not want you to use their website, then your alternatives include: (a) choose a different affiliate program (b) create your own website first and promote it, rather than promoting other people's sites Why will you want to SPEND MONEY promoting other people’s website?
