The reason why using a Cell CPU in a desktop machine is a non-starter?
It won’t work with Windows. And Windows is the OS most personal computer games are written for. Remember Cell is not an x86-compatible CPU.
You can probably run Linux on Cell, but Linux isn’t exactly popular for games.
